First Presby honors longtime members

MINERAL RIDGE -- First Presbyterian Church of Mineral Ridge, 3654 N., Main St., honored 20 people who have been members for 50 years or longer during its worship service April 30.
After the service, the church deacons hosted a reception in fellowship hall. The Rev. Mark Phillips presented a program, "A Trip Down Memory Lane," which was recorded for the church archives.
Honorees
The 50-year and longer members are:
Dorothy Hood, who joined in 1928. She was ordained a deacon in 1976.
Robert Lloyd, a member since 1928.
Mary Richards, a member since 1933.
Marjorie Lynn, a member since 1941. She was the first ordained female elder in the church in 1969.
Sadie Ivanchak, a member since 1941. She was ordained a deacon in 1976.
Betty Hudzik, a member since 1941. She was ordained a deacon in 1990.
Mary Alice Seaborn, a member since 1944. She was ordained an elder in 1978.
Kathryn Young, a member since 1946. She was ordained a deacon in 1978.
Myron Matthews, a member since 1948. He was ordained an elder in 1951, and he was elected to serve a lifetime on Session. Now people are elected for a three-year term.
William Rummell, a member since 1948. He was ordained an elder in 1959.
Gayle Hollowell, a member since 1948. She was ordained a deacon in 1976.
Gladys Jenkins, a member since 1948. She was ordained a deacon in 1981.
Amelia Simmons, a member since 1949. She was ordained a deacon in 1969.
Diane Koch, a member since 1949. She was ordained an elder in 1973 and a deacon in 1988.
Marge Pugh, a member since 1949. She was ordained an elder in 1990 and a deacon in 1984.
Geraldine Lane, a member since 1950. She was ordained an elder in 1978 and a deacon in 1960.
Carole Rummell, a member since 1952. She was ordained an elder in 1972 and a deacon in 1965.
Kenneth Baker, a member since 1956.
Mary Chrys Hudzik, a member since 1956.
