Charter Chapter anniversary observed, member honored

NEW SPRINGFIELD -- The 51st anniversary of the Charter Chapter of the American Business Women's Association was celebrated during a meeting held May 16 at Fonderlac Country Club.
A highlight of the event was the naming of Patricia Coogan as the organization's Woman of the Year, the first member to be honored with the title for two years in a row.
Coogan, president of the chapter, has been a member of ABWA for 28 years, has served on the executive board 10 times, and has either chaired or served on every committee during her membership. She lives in Canfield, where she is an employee of Profile Energy.
During the evening, gifts were presented to members who have perfect attendance.
The Charter Chapter is the first ABWA chapter to be started in Mahoning County.
