Black soldiers story

PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER
If you were black in America at the start of the Revolutionary War, which side would you be on?
Columbia University professor Simon Schama takes up the question in "Rough Crossing: Britain, the Slaves and the American Revolution." Tens of thousands, he reveals, escaped from plantations and headed for the British camps. Some were later betrayed and sent to Sierra Leone.
Harper has recorded an abridgment (11.5 hours, $39.95 on CD), with Schama reading. The recording includes an author interview.
