Symphony guild officers elected, programs outlined

LIBERTY -- A highlight of the general membership meeting held by the Youngstown Symphony Guild on May 10 at the Youngstown Country Club was the election of officers who will head the organization during the coming year.
Accepting the responsibility of various offices were Dorothy Davis, president; Mary Lou Mack, president-elect; Joan Sutton, recording secretary; Carol Richardson, corresponding secretary; and Jeanne Simeone, treasurer.
The guild, an affiliate of the Youngstown Symphony Society, provides financial support to the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra.
Projects planned
In addition to assisting with the sale of orchestra subscription tickets, the guild has planned several fundraising events, including a Come Play Fore the Symphony golf outing to be held July 28 at Youngstown Country Club. Other events to be held at the DeYor Performing Arts Center are a gala opening pre-concert soiree on Oct. 21, the Symphony Ball on March 10, 2007, and a Symphony of Taste and Auction, May 19, 2007.
