YSU students to take part in Parade of Homes

POLAND -- Design Team students from Youngstown State University will decorate one of the homes in the 2006 Parade of Homes to be hosted in June by the Home Builders/Remodelers Association of Mahoning Valley.
The event, presented by Home Savings and 84 Lumber, is planned from 5 to 9 p.m. June 19-23, from noon to 9 p.m. June 17 and June 24, and from noon to 7 p.m. June 18 and June 25. Eight homes will be on display at Catarina Place.
Nouveau Interiors, which has participated in the event for six years, will decorate four showcase homes. With the support of Fonderlin Development, Nouveau Interiors will work with seven or eight YSU students, who will assume the responsibility of decorating and accessorizing the home showcased by Fonderlin Development.
Many of Nouveau Interiors' interns have come from YSU and have worked at both the Parade of Homes and in the showroom. The students will develop an interior design plan for Fonderlin Development and will be responsible for furniture and accessory placement and selection.
Other event sponsors include Armstrong, The Green Team and The Vindicator. Eight homes will be showcased at Catarina Place, Poland Township, from June 17-25.
Admission is $6 and children 16 and younger are free. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the local Make-A-Wish Foundation. For more information, call the HBA at (330) 965-9779 or visit the Web site at www.hbamv.org.
