Thursday's Best Bets on TV

"Combat Diary: The Marines of Lima Company" (9 p.m., A & amp;E): This is an intriguing documentary that views the war in Iraq through the eyes of troops from Columbus, Ohio, who were deployed for seven months last year. During that time, Lima Company was hit harder than any other combat unit, suffering 23 deaths.
"Live from Lincoln Center" (10 p.m., PBS): After 30 years and 181 telecasts, "Live from Lincoln Center" goes to the videotape for two hours of glorious replays. How about Van Cliburn performing Grieg's Piano Concerto from the series' first broadcast in January 1976? Or American Ballet Theatre's "Swan Lake," starring Natalia Makarova and Ivan Nagy from that June's first live telecast of an evening-length ballet? Hosted by Beverly Sills, this greatest-hits collection also includes Luciano Pavarotti singing "Nessun Dorma" with Zubin Mehta and the New York Philharmonic in January 1980, and Leonard Bernstein conducting at Aaron Copland's 85th Birthday concert in November 1985. There's plenty more on "30 Years of 'Live from Lincoln Center,"' a celebration of TV's only series of live arts performances.
