MLS ROUNDUP Wednesday's game

FC Dallas 2, New York 1
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Carlos Ruiz scored with four minutes remaining in regulation to give FC Dallas a victory over New York. Ruiz, who also had an assist on his team's first goal, got the ball in the penalty area and did a spinning 360-degree move to get away from defender Taylor Graham and get off a hard left-footed shot that eluded goalkeeper Tony Meola. It was the sixth goal of the season for Ruiz, good for second in the league. The Red Bulls took the early 1-0 lead when Seth Stammler scored in the eighth minute, his third goal in the last two games. Midfielder Mark Lisi made a nice pass to the streaking Stammler on the left wing, and he blasted home a low shot from 10 yards out. In the 76th minute, FC Dallas drew even when Kenny Cooper headed home a pass from Ronnie O'Brien from 14 yards out. After Ruiz's goal put FC Dallas ahead, Mike Magee's low liner from 35 yards out in the closing minute was the Red Bulls' only threat. Dallas keeper Dario Sala easily made the save.
