WNBA ROUNDUP Sunday's games

Storm 90, Sparks 67
SEATTLE -- Lauren Jackson led four Seattle starters in double figures with 23 points, and the Storm opened the season with a rout of Los Angeles. Jackson was 6-of-8 for 16 points in the second half. She was limited to just six minutes in the first half because of foul trouble. With Jackson on the bench, Sue Bird carried the scoring for Seattle, scoring 10 of her 13 in the first half. Bird made her first five shots and added nine assists. Veteran Wendy Palmer scored 18 points and pulled down 12 rebounds in her first game with Seattle. Lisa Leslie led the Sparks with 24 points, but fouled out with 4:08 left on Jackson's three-point play. Los Angeles couldn't make up for the absence of Chamique Holdsclaw. The All-Star forward missed the opener while tending to family issues on the East Coast. Mwadi Mabika scored 19 for Los Angeles, and Doneeka Hodges-Lewis added 10. Temeka Johnson, last year's league rookie of the year with Washington, shot just 2-for-11 and scored four points.
