Couple's children plan a family party to honor parents' 70th anniversary

XCANFIELD -- Mr. and Mrs. Edwin R. Thompson, 4000 Fox Lane, will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary May 30 with a family party at Diamond Back Golf Course.
The event is being hosted by the couple's children, Roberta Fabish of Pittsburgh; Dr. Jeffrey W. Thompson of Allentown, Pa.; Alan Thompson of Columbiana; and Karen Roth of Wooster. The couple have 11 grandchildren and more than 30 great-grandchildren.
The former Kathryn A. Hoover, who is known as "Kitten," and Mr. Thompson were married May 30, 1936, at Epworth Methodist Church in Youngstown.
Mr. Thompson is president of Thompson-Canfield Inc. and has been associated with Wick Lodge, Al Koran Shrine, Canfield Rotary, and Chatter Box, Saxon and Viking clubs. Mrs. Thompson is a homemaker and has been affiliated with Junior Denova and numerous bridge clubs. They are members of Canfield United Methodist Church.
