Chizmar 60th anniversary celebration set
XCANFIELD -- Plans have been completed for a party to be held May 28 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Michael P. Chizmar, 7130 S. Raccoon Road, in celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary.
Invitations for the festivity have been extended by the couple's children and their spouses, Mary-Margaret and Bert Pharis of St. Augustine, Fla.; Michael and Kathy Chizmar, Pickerington; John and Janet Chizmar, Canfield; Peter Chizmar, Youngstown; Louise and Steven Easter, Washington Court House; Anna Marie Frease, Youngstown; Debbie and Gary Lemmo, Canfield; Leo and JoAnn Chizmar, Boardman; Martin and Debbie Chizmar, Mineral Ridge; and Kevin and Mary Lou Chizmar, Akron.
Completing the family are 25 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Sacred Heart Church in Youngstown was the setting May 18, 1946, as Mr. Chizmar and the former Margaret A. Meenachan were united in marriage.
The couple are members of St. Joseph Church in Austintown, where Mrs. Chizmar is a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. They are former members of St. Brendan Church and Sacred Heart.
Prior to retiring in 1991, Mrs. Chizmar was a clinical assistant with the Alcoholic Clinic of Youngstown.
Mr. Chizmar served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater of Operations during World War II. He was a general foreman with Youngstown Steel Door Co. until retiring in 1981. He is a member of Austintown Eagles 3298 and St. Joseph Men's Club.
