VFW Post 3538 has planned two installation ceremonies



STRUTHERS -- The men and women of Col. Louis J. Campbell VFW Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers, will install their new officers during separate ceremonies May 27 at the post.
At 6 p.m., Helen Tablack, past president, will conduct the induction of the following slate for the auxiliary: Irma Biroschak, president; Tablack, senior vice president; Stasia Filicky, junior vice president; Judy Dill, secretary; Pauline Kenney, treasurer; Virginia Marapese, chaplain; Betty DeGenova, conductress; and Darlene Zaba, guard.
Also seated at the event will be Theresa Pesa, patriotic instructor, and the trustees, Filicky, one year; Kay Meyers, two years; and Carol Crittenden, three years.
Men to be inducted
At 6:30 p.m., Gary Bentfeld, past state commander, will install officers who will head the post in the upcoming season: James Dill, commander; Steve Miner, senior vice president; Edward Rivalsky, junior vice president; David Spay, quartermaster; and Louis Retort, chaplain.
Inducted as trustees will be Emery Biroschak, Lloyd Edwards and Willis Frantz. The house committee chairman will be Edward Svetlak, and the canteen committee will be Dan Gentile, Joseph Hromyak, Ed Dulovic, Dennis Shilling and Carmen Pitzulo. Frank Sylbelnik will serve as surgeon, and Michael Curtis as judge advocate.
Members of the organizations are to meet at the post at 8 a.m. Monday and will be the host group for the Memorial Day parade.
