SCOUTS
Three local boys have received their Eagle Scout awards, Boy Scouting's highest honor. They are:
Kevin Zuschlag
Kevin, 17, son of Brad and Linda Zuschlag of Boardman, is a member of Boy Scout Troop 46, which is chartered at Boardman United Methodist Church. His scoutmaster is Eric Grabman. He is a junior assistant scoutmaster, having held positions of assistant patrol leader and senior patrol leader. He has earned 31 merit badges, the Arrow of Light and Order of the Arrow.
For his Eagle Scout service project, he designed and built a playground for a woman's shelter.
A junior at Boardman High School, he is a member of the Industrial Arts Club, and serves as a private in the Ohio Army National Guard.
Kyle Paull
Kyle, 18, a son of Gary and Katharine Paull of Boardman, also is a member of Troop 46. He has held positions of Order of the Arrow troop representative, quartermaster, patrol leader, assistant patrol leader, and librarian.
Kyle received the Arrow of Light in 1999 and earned Catholic Scouting medals of Ad Altare Dei and Pope Pius XII Awards. He has earned 28 merit badges.
For his Eagle Scout service project, he converted the Sugarhouse Trail at Boardman Park into an educational nature trail using plaques to identify a variety of wildlife and distance markers to show the trail's length.
A senior at Boardman High School, he is a member of its Drama Club, Model U.N., and its concert and marching bands. He is a member of St. Charles Church, where he serves with its youth ministry, Celebrate Team, and is a Eucharistic minister. Kyle plans to attend Walsh College in the fall.
Adam Jugenheimer
Adam, son of Richard Jugenheimer and Joann Gibb of Brookfield, is a member of Troop 100, Greater Western Reserve Council, located at First United Methodist Church, Hubbard, and his father is his scoutmaster.
Adam joined Cub Scout Pack 62 in 1995, received his Arrow of Light in 1999 and was inducted into the Order of the Arrow in 2002. He earned his Religious Emblem (God and Country) through Brookfield United Methodist Church. His is a fourth-year Pipestone holder from Seven Ranges Scout Reservation and will earn his fifth year this year. He attended Philmont Scout Ranch, the 2005 National Scout Jamboree, and served on camp staff at Seven Ranges.
Adam earned 36 merit badges while serving as the troop's scribe, assistant patrol leader, senior patrol leader, junior assistant scoutmaster and den chief of Pack 100. He now serves as an assistant scoutmaster.
His Eagle Scout service project was restoring fiberglass benches, building one picnic table, and installing a charcoal grill for Hubbard Senior Manor.
Adam will graduate from Brookfield High School in a few weeks, and he plans to attend Youngstown State University in the fall.

Dr. Sara Fleet
Dr. Sara Fleet of Youngstown, daughter and stepdaughter of Robert and Mary Barbara Fleet, and daughter of Lowella Fleet, has completed her doctorate in exercise physiology at the University of Pittsburgh, where she focused her education on the biochemistry and physiology of skeletal muscle.
A 1996 graduate of Chaney High School, she received her bachelor's degree from Youngstown State University and earned her master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
She has accepted a fellowship position with two internationally recognized experts to continue her research on induced obesity and diabetes in individuals diagnosed with bipolar schizophrenia. Fleet also dedicates her time as an adjunct professor in addition to coordinating various research projects at the University of Pittsburgh's Medical Center.
Dr. Nicole Damico Powell
Dr. Nicole Damico Powell, a daughter of Nicholas and Barbara Damico of Boardman, has earned her doctorate from Ohio State University in molecular virology, immunology and medical genetics.
During her graduate training, Powell studied the autoimmune disease multiple sclerosis and has been recognized by the university's graduate school as an outstanding graduate student researcher. Powell is a 1994 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School. She received her bachelor's degree in biology with high honors from John Carroll University in 1998 and earned her master's degree in biology from Youngstown State University in 2000.
Powell is a National Institute of Health Postdoctoral Research Fellow at OSU. She is working in the laboratory of neuroendocrinology in the college of dentistry. Her current research involves the study of the effects of acute and chronic stress on infectious and allergic diseases.
She is a a member of the American Association of Immunologists, American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the Psychoneuroimmunology Research Society.
Powell, her husband, Atty. David T., and their daughter, Angelina, live in Dublin, Ohio.
