Conference planned at YSU

Topics will include homeownership and retirement planning.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Ohio Treasurer Jennette Bradley's office will be conducting the 2006 Women and Money Conference on June 9 at Youngstown State University's Kilcawley Center.
The one-day workshop, sponsored by The Vindicator, is a free program designed to provide women with the tools to make informed financial decisions.
The conference will be from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will include morning and afternoon breakout sessions.
Topics include budgeting, credit and debt management, estate planning, homeownership, identity theft, investments, insurance, retirement planning and effective money management for children.
"The Women and Money workshops provide valuable insight to help women navigate the maze of personal finance," Bradley said.
"The information offered through these seminars helps women take control of their financial future."
In addition to the traditional topics, the event will include courses in caring for the elderly, advanced investments and supportive financial attitudes, a course taught by a licensed counselor to help address the psychological aspects of financial matters.
The conferences will take place in 11 cities across Ohio between June 2 and Aug. 25. Registration begins five weeks before each conference and seating is limited.
