Homeowners express unhappiness with maintenance of Kline's Farm
The homeowners want the property to be kept up better.
LIBERTY -- Kline's Farm Development here is only about five years old, but some homeowners are unhappy with the general maintenance of the development's common areas.
Michael Sylvester, a homeowner in the development, organized a meeting of homeowners who are unhappy with how the Kline's Farm is maintained. He said the neighborhood and residents are great, but upkeep of the area leaves something to be desired.
"We really don't have a problem with the neighborhood, but all of a sudden the maintenance has gone to hell," he said.
Sylvester said homeowners pay an association fee to a Boardman-based management company responsible for upkeep of the development's common areas. He said those responsible continually say they are working on correcting any issues when residents complain, but complaints often go unaddressed.
Sylvester said there are weeds growing at entrance ways to the property; there no lights at the entrance ways; there are no streetlights on two streets off Kline Drive; trash is found lying on the ground; and people speed through the area.
He said the grass was recently cut, but the job was less than professional in some areas.
Sylvester said fees paid by homeowners should cover trash pickup, lighting, water and maintenance of grass. Homeowners at Wednesday's meeting circulated a petition to have streetlights placed on those streets lacking them.
