Homeowner group plans grand opening

YOUNGSTOWN -- Arlington Heights Homeownership Inc. announced it will have a grand opening celebration for its new for-sale housing community from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday on Park Avenue between Wirt and Griffith streets.
The festivities include tours of the new homes and free refreshments.
The Homes at Arlington Heights is a public-private partnership to revitalize Youngstown's North Side. The project will enable many Mahoning Valley residents who thought they could not afford a new house the ability to buy one. Household income guidelines are between $19,000 and $41,700.
When complete, The Homes at Arlington Heights will consist of 30 new owner-occupied homes. Buyers can choose from five models. All of the homes include garages and three bedrooms, many come with basements and 11/2 baths.
Phase I, which consists of 10 new homes, is more than 50 percent sold, said a release from the Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority, which is overseeing the project.
