YOUNGSTOWN -- Christian singer-songwriter Jesse Manibusan will perform Saturday at St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave. Tickets for the concert, which is open to the public, can be bought at the door for $3 or in advance for $2 by calling (330) 743-1109. Proceeds will benefit the Rich Center for Autism and Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Slidell, La. (for victims of Hurricane Katrina). Youths from St. Patrick's attended a diocesan youth convention two years ago and were impressed with Manibusan's music and style. Since then, they held several numerous fundraisers to bring him to Youngstown. Manibusan calls himself a Catholic lay evangelist who uses music, comedy and stories to connect with people. Dance club plansworkshop, dance
YOUNGSTOWN -- Y-Dance Club will present a West Coast Swing workshop and dance June 24 at the Youngstown Maennerchor, 831 Mahoning Ave. Award-winning professional instructors Jason Miklic and Sophy Kdep will conduct two intermediate-level workshops and one advanced-level workshop, and will put on an exhibition at the evening dance. Arts center open house
GIRARD -- London House Center for Fine Arts, 202 S. State St. (Route 422), is hosting an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Rick Muccio, caricature artist, will be available to display some of his art work and discuss his upcoming class. Refreshments will be available, and children can play in the art room. Ballet performances
ASHTABULA -- Ballet Theatre Ashtabula will present the final performances of its annual spring ballet, "Classics Rock!," at the Ashtabula Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday. "Classics Rock!" blends audience favorites with new and innovative pieces. Dances have been choreographed to the music of Chopin, Vivaldi and Rachmaninov as well as more modern musicians such as Genesis, Stevie Wonder and The Bodyrockers. Reservations are recommended.
