South Range hires high school principal
NORTH LIMA -- South Range Board of Education has hired a new high school principal. The board awarded Dr. Phillip Latessa, an assistant principal at Fitch High School in Austintown, a three-year-contract Monday.
Latessa will replace Dennis Dunham starting Aug. 1. Dunham is to take over for schools Superintendent James Hall when Hall retires this summer.
In other news, the board approved a wellness plan that calls for the district to promote health and fitness by encouraging pupils, parents and school staff to make healthier choices. Last month the board adopted a wellness policy, and from there established a wellness advisory team. The team made recommendations on the development of a plan that would encourage wellness through better nutrition and regular physical activity.
