MLB ROUNDUP | Tuesday's other games

AMERICAN LEAGUE
Yankees 14, Rangers 13
NEW YORK -- New York was down nine runs in the second inning without three of its biggest boppers. Jorge Posada and Derek Jeter never stopped playing. Posada hit a game-winning, two-run homer with two outs in the ninth after withstanding a violent collision at the plate, and Jeter went 4-for-5 with a homer, four RBIs and three runs. He also threw out a runner at the plate and stole third base. Posada drove in five runs and dusted himself off after getting run over by Mark Teixeira in the sixth. The comeback matched the biggest in Yankees history.
Tigers 7, Twins 4
DETROIT -- Chris Shelton had a three-run double during Detroit's five-run third inning in the Tigers' fifth straight victory. Nate Robertson (4-2) limited Minnesota to three runs and seven hits in five innings, improving to 3-0 in his last five starts. Todd Jones, the fourth Tigers reliever, got the last three outs for his 10th save in 11 tries. Kyle Lohse (2-4) gave up five runs and six hits in 22/3 innings. He is 0-3 against the Tigers with a 13.14 ERA in three starts this year.
Red Sox 6, Orioles 5
BALTIMORE -- Curt Schilling earned his sixth victory despite allowing three home runs, and Boston got homers from Manny Ramirez and Trot Nixon. David Ortiz singled in the tie-breaking run in the sixth inning and Mark Loretta had three hits for the Red Sox, who beat Baltimore for a 13th straight time -- eight in a row this season. Schilling (6-2) allowed five runs and nine hits in 52/3 innings. Ramon Hernandez, Brandon Fahey and Jay Gibbons homered for the Orioles, who turned a 4-0 deficit into a 5-4 lead before Boston rallied for its eighth win in 10 games. It was Fahey's first major league homer.
Devil Rays 10, White Sox 7
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Scott Kazmir struck out eight in seven strong innings, and Ty Wigginton and Toby Hall hit consecutive homers. Kazmir (6-2) settled after a shaky beginning to limit the defending World Series champions to four singles and a double before leaving with a 10-1 lead that Tampa Bay's struggling bullpen nearly couldn't protect. Wigginton and Hall homered off Brandon McCarthy (2-2) in the second inning. Jonny Gomes drove in three runs with a bases-loaded double and Carl Crawford delivered a pair of infield RBI singles and a sacrifice fly in support of Kazmir, who walked two to extend his winning streak to a career-high four games. The White Sox made it interesting by scoring six times in the eighth.
NATIONAL LEAGUE
Rockies 5, Dodgers 1
DENVER -- Brad Hawpe homered, threw out a runner at the plate and tied his career high with four RBIs and Byung-Hyun Kim withstood a shaky start to lead Colorado. Hawpe broke a 1-1 tie in the fourth when he sent the first pitch he saw from Derek Lowe into the left-field bleachers, 422 feet away for a three-run shot, his 10th. Hawpe also had an RBI single in the second. He's 6-for-8 lifetime against Lowe with two homers and six RBIs. Kim (2-1) allowed one earned run on four hits in seven innings, but that line didn't begin to tell the story of his night, which began with a 29-pitch first inning.
Brewers 3, Phillies 2
MILWAUKEE -- Bill Hall scored the game-winning run on a throwing error by Ryan Franklin in the ninth inning. Damian Miller bunted to the third base side of the mound and Franklin (1-3) fired wildly to David Bell at third, allowing Hall to coast home on the error. Hall hit a double to leadoff the ninth and Franklin intentionally walked Corey Koskie to put two on and no out, setting up Miller's at-bat.
Cubs 4, Nationals 0
CHICAGO -- Carlos Zambrano pitched eight scoreless innings, Aramis Ramirez and Todd Walker drove in two runs apiece for Chicago. Zambrano (2-2) had his third straight strong start and his second win in a row as the Cubs snapped a four-game losing streak. Washington has lost five of eight. Zambrano struck out eight, walked two and gave up four hits in Chicago's first shutout of the season and just its second win in 14 games. Both of the 24-year-old Venezuelan's wins have ended losing streaks. Zambrano's first victory, on May 10, snapped an eight-game skid. The Cubs won for just the second time in 14 games. Zambrano, who threw a season-high 122 pitches, got ahead of hitters early, and struck out two in each of the first three innings. Starting the third, Zambrano retired 13 in a row before Wiki Gonzalez singled in the seventh.
Braves 4, Marlins 3, 11 innings
ATLANTA -- Matt Diaz singled in the winning run in the 11th inning as Atlanta rallied twice to beat Florida. Behind Dontrelle Willis, the Marlins took a 2-1 lead to the ninth. But Jeff Francoeur tied it with a homer that barely cleared the center-field fence. The Marlins went ahead in the 11th, taking advantage of a defensive blunder by pitcher Macay McBride. But McBride (1-0) wound up getting the win when the Braves scored twice in the bottom half. Chipper Jones led off with a walk against Joe Borowski (0-1) and came all the way around to score when Andruw Jones doubled to the wall in left-center. After Francoeur grounded out, the Marlins walked Adam LaRoche intentionally to face Diaz, who homered in the fifth for the Braves' first run. He came through again with a single up the middle, Andruw Jones trotting home from third with the winning run.
