Bruised left elbow sends Blue Jays' Troy Glaus to the sidelines

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -- Toronto third baseman Troy Glaus left the Blue Jays' game Thursday night against the Angels in the third inning because of a bruised left elbow.
Glaus was plunked by a 2-2 pitch from Los Angeles right-hander Ervin Santana in the second inning and played one more inning in the field before coming out. It was the first time he was hit by a pitch this season.
The three-time All-Star, hitting .265 with 12 homers and 32 RBIs, returned to Angel Stadium as an opponent for the first time. He was obtained in a Dec. 27 trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks, who signed him as a free agent in December 2004 after the Angels chose not to offer him a new contract.
Glaus led the AL in 2000 with a career-high 47 home runs, setting a league record for homers by a third baseman. Two years later he had a career-high 111 RBIs and batted .385 in the World Series, winning Series MVP honors.
