Blue Jackets promote Marc Gregory to VP



The Michigan grad has been with the Columbus team since 1999.
COLUMBUS -- Cardinal Mooney High graduate Marc Gregory has been named vice president of marketing by the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Gregory joined the then-NHL expansion team as director of advertising and promotions in 1999 and was promoted to executive director of marketing in 2004.
In his role, he helps develop and manage all advertising, promotions and marketing initiatives of the Blue Jackets, as well as assisting with similar initiatives for Nationwide Arena and the Columbus Destroyers of the Arena Football League.
He is also actively involved in the television and radio broadcast partnerships of both the Blue Jackets and Destroyers.
Began with Giant Eagle LPGA
Gregory came to Columbus after spending five years with the LPGA's Giant Eagle Classic.
He began his stint as a sales/marketing & amp; operations coordinator before serving as the senior tournament coordinator directing the sales, marketing, public relations and operations efforts surrounding the event.
The Youngstown native is a 1994 graduate of the University of Michigan, where he served as the hockey sports information director while working in the university's athletic department. He and his wife, Melissa, are the parents of daughter, Emerson, and reside in Powell.
Also promoted
Also promoted were David Paitson to vice-president of ticket sales and Todd Sharrock to vice-president of public relations.
Paitson has been with the organization since 1998, serving as vice-president of marketing. In his new role, he will oversee all ticketing sales initiatives for the Blue Jackets, Destroyers and Nationwide Arena. He has served as the president of the Destroyers since 2004.
Sharrock joined the organization as director of communications in 2000. In his new role, he will oversee the club's communications and community development departments.
