Scramble to benefit MCCRC
The event will be held June 12 at Pine Lakes Golf Course.
HUBBARD -- Pine Lakes Golf Course will be the setting June 12 for Par 4 The Developmentally Disabled, a benefit golf classic for the Mahoning County Council for Retarded Citizens.
This is the first year for the event. Play will be a four-person scramble and will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. Cost is $65 per player and includes food, beverages and prizes.
The primary sponsor of the event is Moore's Tavern in Youngstown. Hole sponsorships are available as follows and are tax-deductible:
Gold sponsor: $500, includes sign, golf foursome and a plaque.
Silver sponsor: $250, includes sign and plaque.
Bronze sponsor: $100, includes sign.
Additionally, prize donations are being accepted.

The council
The nonprofit, tax-exempt MCCRC was founded in 1955 to offer support to parents and guardians of mentally retarded and developmentally disabled children and adults. It also provides public awareness regarding people with mental retardation and of recreational programs for both children and adults, including Camp Rachel, a six-week summer day camp held annually for those 6 to 22.
