Park district schedule
The county park board has approved the schedule of spring and summer events for Scenic Vista Park and Little Beaver Creek Greenway Trail. All programs are at Scenic Vista Park on Wayne Bridge Road unless otherwise noted. The events and dates are as follows:
May 21: 2 p.m., wildflower hike on Greenway Trail. Meet in the parking lot at the covered bridge on Eagleton Road.
May 27: 8:30 a.m., bird-watching hike at Scenic Vista park. Meet by the pavilion in the park.
May 27: Dusk, night sky watch with the Mahoning Valley Astronomical Society.
June 11: 2-4 p.m., music provide by local band Get Out & amp; Push. Bring a lawn chair as seating is limited.
July 1: Dusk, night sky watch.
July 9: 1 p.m. Benefit walk/ride on the Greenway Trail. Starting points are Trailhead 164 in Lisbon and Trailhead 558 in Franklin Square. Cost: $5 per person. Event T-shirts available for $10 each.
July 16: 4-6 p.m., Get Out and Push band concert. A discussion on snakes and other reptiles with Kathy Cattrell takes place before the concert.
Aug. 26 and 27: Eighth annual Civil War Re-enactment scheduled with daily battles and a Saturday evening ball.
