What's behind this
The purpose of the Meyer lecture series is twofold: to foster understanding between the Jewish and Christian communities and to preserve the memory of the late Rabbi Samuel Meyer of Temple El Emeth in Liberty, who was instrumental in improving communication between the two faiths. The lecture series is made possible by the Rabbi Samuel Meyer Memorial Trust.
There also will be a luncheon and workshop for clergy at noon that day at Congregation Ohev Tzedek. Sister Mary will speak on "The Pharisees: What's a Preacher to Say?" The cost is $10 and checks should be made payable to Rabbi Meyer Memorial Trust and sent by May 25 to the Rev. Nick Mager at First Presbyterian Church, 201 Wick Ave., Youngstown 44503.
