WARREN -- Donald W. Emerson Jr., executive director of the Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority, has been appointed to the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library Board of Trustees.
Trumbull County commissioners appointed Emerson to fill the unexpired term of Stanley Elkins, who resigned.
Since 1998, Emerson has been in charge of the housing authority, which operates 1,800 housing units, which are occupied by about 3,000 low- and moderate-income residents.
Four library board members are appointed by the commissioners and three by the county common pleas judges. All library board members serve unpaid seven-year terms.
The other board members are Lynn Griffith Jr., president; Martha Ellers, vice president; James Duff, secretary; Ellen Dieter, Margaret Dudt and James McFarland.
The library system has branches in Brookfield, Cortland, Howland, Liberty and Lordstown.
