Geauga Lake to open
AURORA -- Geauga Lake Amusement Park opens for weekend operation Saturday at 10 a.m. The park is gearing up for a season of surprises, starting with a new pricing structure.
The price of a junior ticket has been lowered to $9.95, and a new senior admission has been added for the same price.
A spring admission of $19.95 for guests under the age of 62 and over 48 inches tall is also in effect for the early-season.
The Raging Wolf Bobs has undergone a multi-year retracking project that's brought the 1988 coaster back to its original riding condition.
Guests can head to the other side of the park by walking right through the middle of the lake with Geauga Lake's newly relocated floating bridge. They also have the option to travel by foot or by shuttle, on the new walkway located behind the Raging Wolf Bobs.
Finally, take a peak at the 100-foot tall Thunder Falls waterslide complex and the huge tornado slide located within Wildwater Kingdom, which opens May 27.

Shipwreck camp
CLEVELAND -- Imagine developing a plan to find a shipwreck in Lake Erie. Youth with the sense of adventure that led Dr. Robert Ballord, the explorer who discovered the wreck of the RMS Titanic, can join in the fun and learning associated with Shipwreck Camp 2006, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., weekdays starting June 12 and concluding June 23, at Case Western Reserve University.
The camp is for youths between the ages of 12 to 15.
According to Kathy Kwiatkowski of CWRU, campers will embark on a virtual adventure to find a shipwreck in Lake Erie; read about exploration; and visit a number of sites to learn about Great Lakes geology, ecology, history and aquatic biology.
Campers will also get an introduction to scuba diving and snorkeling and learn about some navigation technologies.
Students must be able to get in and out of large and small boats and not be afraid of the water and insects. Swimming skills are recommended. The camp costs $600. For information, contact Kwiatkowski at (216) 368-5075 or email kmk21@case.edu.
