Cook, Rosselli gain semifinals

BOARDMAN -- Jefferson's Matt Liszewski upset third-seeded Eric Saddle of Liberty (6-4, 7-5) while top-seeded Josh Cook (Mooney) and second-seeded Anthony Rosselli (Poland) each advanced to Saturday's semifinals at Thursday's Division II sectional singles tournament at the Boardman Tennis Center, which was moved indoors due to inclement weather.
Because of a three-matches-in-one-day-rule, Poland's Tim Friedrich will meet fourth-seeded Andrew Martin of Jefferson in a quarterfinal match today at Boardman High School.
Doubles
LIBERTY -- The top three seeds advanced to the doubles semifinals while Ursuline's fourth-seeded team of Vlad Lungu and Jon Eusanio was upset by Warren JFK's Andrew Barran and Anthony Covelli, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 at Liberty Racquet Club.
Semifinals and finals for singles and doubles will be played Saturday at 9 a.m. at Volney Rogers Courts in Youngstown. In case of inclement weather, matches will be moved to Boardman Tennis Center.
