POLAND
May 4
Possible theft: Someone entered a garage in the 30 block of Nesbitt Street and may have removed items from a refrigerator.
Drug paraphernalia: While investigating two suspicious males in a backyard on Nesbitt Street, police said they smelled suspected marijuana. Arrested was a Poland boy, 16, on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
May 5
Assault: A worker at Sunrise Assisted Living of Poland, 335 W. McKinley Way, told police a resident struck her in the face with a piece of a sink's faucet, and other employees said the man hit or kicked them and injured a female resident. Both residents were taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown.
GIRARD
May 8
Criminal mischief/vandalism: Police received about a dozen complaints regarding damage to vehicles' windows, doors, quarter panels, trunk lids and paint on Woodlawn and Washington streets, North Ward, Beechwood and Lincoln avenues, and Church Hill Road. Total estimated damage to the 12 cars was more than $6,000.
Theft: A worker at McQuaid's Service Center, 131 S. State St., told police a woman took food and candy.
Criminal mischief: A man in the 800 block of Beechwood Avenue reported someone used a BB gun to shoot his vehicle two or more times.
May 9
Theft: A man in the 100 block of East Main Street accessed his bank account and realized checks had been stolen and written for an undisclosed amount.
LIBERTY
May 2
Theft: An Ellsworth woman discovered a $700 unauthorized withdrawal had been made from her account at Sky Bank, 3499 Belmont Ave.
Criminal damaging: Someone broke a limousine's rear window, causing $600 worth of damage, in the 5100 block of Sampson Drive.
Criminal damaging: A man in the 1000 block of Academy Drive discovered someone broke his vehicle's windshield with a rock. Estimated damage came to $400.
Attempted theft: Someone tried to steal money from a washing machine at an apartment complex in the 10 block of Holly Drive, damaging the machine.
Theft: A golf bag and assorted hats and T-shirts were removed from an office at Western Reserve Health Foundation, 2911 Northview Drive.
May 3
Assault: A patient at Belmont Pines Hospital, 615 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, told police another resident, 14, struck her in the face after taking a piece of property from the patient.
Assault: While responding to a fight at Liberty High School, 1 Leopard Way, officers arrested a 15-year-old student on charges of assault and disorderly conduct after another student alleged he struck her in the head and pushed her to the ground, causing her to hit a locker. The girl had a large bruise and abrasions on her right arm.
Identity theft: A Vienna man found out someone fraudulently established a $50,000 line of credit through Key Bank, 3198 Belmont Ave., using his name.

Auto theft: A woman reported the theft of her 1989 Pontiac Bonneville from her apartment in the 3000 block of Frederick Street.
Auto theft: A Girard man reported his 1997 Kia stolen while at a residence in the 1700 block of Harding Avenue.
Theft: A Liberty High School employee returned to work and discovered a box containing personal papers, credit cards and other items missing from an office.
Breaking and entering: Someone broke into a building in the 6700 block of Belmont Avenue through a front window and stole a DVD player.
May 5
Domestic violence: A 45-year-old man was arrested during a traffic stop on Fifth Avenue on a warrant charging him with the crime.
Arrest: A 25-year-old Toledo woman was picked up at the Mahoning County Jail on a felony warrant from Liberty charging her with forgery.
Burglary: A Mount Vernon, N.Y., man staying at the Tallyho-tel, 4249 Belmont Ave., called police after someone broke into his room and took $100.
Theft: A man in the 70 block of Oriole Drive reported two cars were broken into and that a digital camera, an MP-3 player and $25 were stolen, for a loss of more than $3,000.
Forgery: A Bloomingdale, Ohio, woman found out a check of hers was written for $50 without authorization and cashed at Home Savings and Loan, 3500 Belmont Ave.
Theft: A worker at Rubenstein Associates, 985 Church Hill-Hubbard Road, reported the theft of a credit card.
Criminal damaging: A woman in the 500 block of Secrist Lane discovered her mailbox damaged.
Aggravated menacing: A Brookfield man reported that, while at Schultz's Oil & amp; Gas, 6470 Belmont Ave., another man, 56, pointed a firearm at his head and threatened to kill him.
May 6
Theft: An employee at Denny's Restaurant, 4020 Belmont Ave., reported the theft of his $90 cellular phone.
Criminal damaging: A mailbox was smashed at a home in the 1000 block of Academy Drive.
May 7
Criminal damaging: Someone tossed eggs at a residence in the 3800 block of Fifth Avenue, damaging a portion of the driveway, siding and the roof.
Domestic violence: Police took a 43-year-old man into custody at his Fifth Avenue residence on a domestic-violence charge. A woman alleged the man slapped her in the face and threatened to harm her family during an argument with another family member.
Theft/criminal damaging: A woman discovered someone tipped over and cut the hoses to a washing machine at an apartment complex in the 200 block of Church Hill-Hubbard Road before stealing money from its coin box.
Breaking and entering: A Girard man learned that someone broke into a garage he owns in the 5800 block of Belmont Avenue and removed a pool table, two toolboxes and various tools. The loss amounted to $1,400.
Burglary: Police arrested a 48-year-old Youngstown man on an aggravated-burglary charge after someone broke into an apartment building in the 200 block of Church HIll-Hubbard Road. Officers say they found the suspect near a basement utility room after a washing machine had been damaged and money removed from a coin dispenser.
May 8
Burglary: Someone broke into a room at the Tallyho-tel through a window and took a set of shirts and pants, a pair of shorts and a two-pack of T-shirts, for a loss of $116.
Theft/criminal damaging: A man in the 3300 block of Anderson-Morris Road alleged his former girlfriend, 25, damaged his vehicle's tires and removed $1,000 as well as $8,000 worth of jewelry.
May 9
Assault: A man had a minor injury after reporting a 13-year-old boy punched him in the leg at Belmont Pines Hospital.
Aggravated menacing: A Girard woman told police a man, 44, waved a gun at her while she was at a residence in the 5700 block of Edwards Street.
Assault/aggravated menacing: A Niles woman alleged her boyfriend, 19, threw her to the ground and punched her in the head during an argument at his Dailey Avenue home. She also said he threatened to shoot himself and a friend.
