OSHP seeks ID of man masquerading as cop
LISBON -- The Ohio State Highway Patrol is seeking information about a man who is stopping motorists and claiming to be a police officer.
The man, who stopped a vehicle on state Route 11 in Columbiana County on Sunday night, is described as white, 35-40 years old, with a medium build and short dark hair, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, and weighing about 200 pounds. He has a neatly trimmed mustache and goatee with sideburns extending to the middle of his ears.
He was last seen wearing a dark blue, long-sleeved, button-down shirt with an oval gold-rimmed patch on the right shoulder, black dress pants, and a thick black leather belt with handcuffs on the right side. Witnesses saw no firearm or flashlight on him.
The man reportedly drives a white Ford or Chevy four-door vehicle with a medium blue interior, with a clear plastic glass divider between the front and rear, a red dash dome light and a strong odor of cherry air freshener.
