Leedsworld to pick site in June

WARREN -- The chief financial officer of the New Kensington, Pa.-based manufacturing company Leedsworld says a final decision on whether to select a site at the Warren Commerce Park or one in Altoona, Pa., will be made around the second week of June.
Martin J. Vuono said Wednesday that decisions from local officials on incentives, and also negotiations on a lease agreement on the building, still have to be finalized before a decision will be made.
Mark Zigmont, a planner with the Trumbull County Planning Commission, said meetings are planned for May 24 with Warren City Council and June 1 with Trumbull County commissioners to decide whether to grant a tax abatement of 75 percent on new real-property improvements for 10 years.
The company has said it will invest $4.4 million in the former Delphi Packard Electric building on North River Road on the edge of Warren Commerce Park and create more than 240 jobs. According to state documents, Leedsworld would lease the 256,000-square-foot facility for the production, processing and distribution of promotional material and goods.
