Griffith quits for Lake Co. job

BOARDMAN -- Christina M. Griffith, deputy administrator since 2004 and acting administrator since April, tendered her resignation, effective May 19.
Griffith couldn't be reached late Tuesday.
Trustee Kathy Miller said that Griffith has taken a job in human resources in Lake County. She informed trustees of the resignation after Monday's trustees meeting.
Trustees appointed Griffith acting administrator after firing Curt Seditz on March 31. Seditz had been administrator for about 10 years.
"That's why we have three trustees," Miller said. "We all get to pitch in."
The deadline for applications for the administrator position was April 28, and more than 70 people applied. Miller said trustees are reviewing the applications.
"We have a lot of good candidates," she said, adding that she hopes for someone with fiscal management experience.
Miller also said that though trustees haven't discussed it, she doesn't expect to hire another deputy administrator.
Griffith was the first person hired for that post. Her salary this year was to be about $48,000.
