Christian youth event features Ray McElroy

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Increase the Peace committee is inviting all pupils in seventh through 12th grades throughout the Mahoning Valley to "Huddle Up and Hang Out" from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Heart Reach Ministries at 211 Redondo Road.
There will be free food, and Ray McElroy, a former professional football player who is now a motivational speaker with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, will be on hand to speak with the youths on a variety of topics.
Entertainment will be offered by Carnival, a Christian musical group.
This is one of several programs that will increase the peace in the Valley by offering an alternative to drugs and violence, said Andrea Lynn Mahone, community director for Increase the Peace.
It gives young people somewhere to go and something to do outside school, she said.
