Man pleads innocent to murder charge

WARREN -- A city man was arraigned on a murder charge stemming from a February 2004 double shooting that left one man dead at Gateway Apartments off Southern Boulevard.
Adam Bonner, 26, of 2477 Milton Street S.E., appeared before Judge Peter Kontos of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court and pleaded innocent Monday to murder with a gun specification and to being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
Judge Kontos set bond at $1 million. Bonner's next hearing is set for May 17 before Judge W. Wyatt McKay. Bonner also used an address on Palymra Road Southwest.
Warren police said Bonner got into a dispute with Eddie Anderson, 25, at the apartment. Anderson died from gunshot wounds to the chest. Bonner was shot in the leg in the shootout, police said.
If convicted on the murder charge, Bonner faces 15 years to life in prison plus three years on the gun specification.
Bonner was secretly indicted by a county grand jury Monday on the murder charge.
He was also arrested at his house Saturday and charged with having an open container and driving under suspension, and is set to appear in Warren Municipal Court on those charges today.
