Girard police probe vandalism of cars

GIRARD -- Even the police were victimized.
City police are investigating the second string of car windows damaged with large rocks in two weeks.
According to Police Chief Frank Bigowsky, about 12 cars, including two police cars, in the city were damaged by large rocks or pellet guns over the weekend. Police are still investigating similar reports of vandalism from a week ago. The damaged vehicles were on various city streets.
One police car was scratched and had damage to the window area were it was hit by a large rock. The other police car, and most of the other vehicles vandalized, had shattered back windows.
Bigowsky said police believe the same people are responsible for both strings of vandalism. He said police do not believe juveniles are involved.
