The following property owners testified Tuesday that they paid their 2003 taxes by check but were never credited by the county treasurer's office. All received notices from the county tax claim bureau that they were delinquent and then produced canceled checks proving that taxes had been paid:
Joseph LaMonica of Canton, Ohio, who owns a mobile home court in Edinburg, Pa., paid $1,732.60 in taxes in 2003.
Sharon Irvine, Shenango Township, paid $298.17 in taxes.
Michele Irwin, Wayne Township, $1,070.
Andrea Rakosnik, New Beaver borough, $589.62.
Frances Jones, Taylor Township, $163.42.
Phyllis Iorio, New Castle, $718.56.
Timothy Dudash, Union Township, $245.78.
John Tomes, Ellwood Partners owner, $6,071.70.
Michele DeCarlo, Airway Industries/Atlantic Luggage in Ellwood City, $7,957.66.
Barbara Hodge, Volant, $225.64.
Gary Kay, Sharon, owned property in New Wilmington, $757.96
Karen Locke, Ellwood City, $408.75.
Dina Sair, Edinburg, $626.35.
William Blaho, Enon Valley, $379.65.
Richard Higgins, Slippery Rock Township, $235.05.
Jack Hanna, Slippery Rock Township, $723.48.
Jeff Bloise, Volant, owned five separate properties and sent individual checks for $1,053.89; $817.06; $908.38; $485.76; $328.16.
Rhonda Gricks, director of fiscal services, Jameson Hospital, $8,881.76 (hospital taxes).
