Motorist cited after hitting police cycle

YOUNGSTOWN -- A Campbell woman was cited after she struck a Youngstown Police Department motorcycle at the intersection of Wirt Street and Belmont Avenue.
Police said the motorcycle officer was not injured. According to the police report, Vivian Wolff, 36, of Tenney Avenue, was driving south on Belmont and stopped Sunday afternoon at the traffic light at Wirt and Belmont. A YPD motorcycle officer was stationed in the intersection, directing traffic for a passing procession.
Police said Wolff tried to pass on the left as the last car in the procession passed. Her car struck the motorcycle, causing the officer to fall to the ground. Wolff was cited for driving left of center and failure to yield to a public safety vehicle.
