Police probe shooting of Youngstown teen

YOUNGSTOWN -- Police are investigating the shooting of a 19-year-old Griffith Street man.
According to police reports, officers were called to the Griffith Street address at 9:30 a.m. Friday and found Shauntear R. Davis lying on the living room floor with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Davis was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center, but hospital officials would not release any information as to his condition, or even confirm that he was still there Friday evening.
Reports say the man's brother, Whittington Davis, told officers that someone had opened the screen door and fired one shot into the room, hitting the victim. Shauntear Davis, however, at the hospital, told police that whoever fired the shot was inside the home sitting in a chair.
