Flower show winners announced by judges

YOUNGSTOWN -- Laura Miller, Beverly Italiano, Anne Ellis and Sheila Bowman served as judges for a flower show held by the Garden Forum of the Greater Youngstown Area April 22-23 at Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek MetroParks.
Pearl Marlos and Esther Bertch were chairmen for the show, and winners were named in several categories.
Blue-ribbon winners in design were Elsie DeHoff, Austintown Garden Club; Marlos and Mildred Campean, Gleaners; Joyce Dunbar, Grand Caymen; and Bertch and Ellis, Nature Lovers.
The Gold Seal for design was awarded to Marlos of Gleaners.
Winners of blue ribbons in horticulture were Mary Schall, DeHoff, Norma McMahan, Rae Jones, Mary Harshman and Irene John of Austintown; Campean and Marlos of Gleaners; Rose Marie Roth, Daphne; Kathleen Willingham, Ikebana; Carol Estok and Stephanie Shelly, Lowellville; Carol Lunger, members-at-large; Ellis, Bowman, Dianna Mullins and Regina Webb, Nature Lovers; Dorothy Haddox, Our Lady of Fatima; Sissy Walter, Beth Haddle and Roxanne Macynski, public; Martha Murphy, St. Edward's; Mary Kay Amodio, St. Michael's; and Jean Davidson, Sweetbriar.
The Gold Seal winners in the horticulture category were Murphy, St. Edward's; Marlos, Gleaners; and Haddle, public.
