Provitt leads Harding to Trumbull track crown
CORTLAND -- Jay Provitt took first place in the 100-meter dash in 11.1 seconds, the 200 (21.6) and was a member of winning 4x200 and 4x100 relays as the Warren Harding High's boys won the 12th Trumbull County track and field meet Thursday at Lakeview High.
Alynn Martin, Hannah Croft, Kiley Mathews and Katie Scarmell set a 4x400 relay meet record (4:07.8) leading the Lakeview girls to the team title with 90 points. Hubbard placed second with 79.
Bryan Albani of Howland took first place in the 110-high hurdles (14.4) and the 300 hurdles (39.3).
Andy Morgan of Maplewood won the 1600 (4:27) and the 3200 (9:57).
Brett Davenport of Lakeview leaped 21 feet, 21/2 inches to establish the area's top effort in the long jump.
Abbey Kiger of Mineral Ridge won the girls 100 hurdles (15.8) and the 300 hurdles (47.2).
Audrey Maheu of Warren JFK set a meet record (2:16.8) in the 800. The Eagles' Jen Natale, Lauren Perisa, Maheu and Michelle Chaves set a meet record (4:07) in the 4x400 relay.
Katoria Carter of Hubbard took first place in the 200 (26.5) and the 400 (58.2) and she anchored the winning 4x200 relay (1:46.9). Other runners were Olivia Lane, Katie Zitnik and Michele Starkey.
Rochelle Rupe of Maplewood won the 1600 (5:24.1) and the 3200 (12:01.8).
