Lawrence County
Auditors say $286,113 in cash payments made to the Lawrence County treasurer's office was never deposited into the county bank account. The private auditors looked at the following five-year period and found negative balances coinciding with the time Gary Felasco was both county treasurer and county tax claim bureau director. The county ended up with a positive cash balance the year he was fired as tax claim bureau director (2004). Negative balances (missing amounts) are in parentheses:
