STROKE AWARENESS Events planned
St. Elizabeth Health Center's Stroke Center has planned several events during May, stroke awareness month.
Today, 11:30 a.m. to noon and 12:15 to 12:45 p.m.: Lunch & amp; Learn. "Managing Blood Pressure in the Acute Stroke," presented by Lenora M. Maze, clinical nurse specialist, in Finnegan Auditorium, St. Elizabeth, Belmont Avenue.
Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to noon: Stroke survivors' seminar for stroke patients and families, Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital, Howland. To register, call (330) 965-9230.
Wednesday, noon to 1 p.m.: Lunch & amp; Learn: & quot;The Role of Oral Antiplatelet Therapy in the Management of Ischemic Stroke, & quot; presented by Pharmacist Verneda Butler in Finnegan Auditorium, St. Elizabeth.
May 13, 10 a.m. to noon: Boardman Township Health and Safety Fair, Boardman Township Administration Building. Stroke Center staff will do stroke assessments.
May 22, noon to 1 p.m.: Stroke awareness talk for the community by Mary Ann Cashier, Stroke Center coordinator, at St. Joe's at the Mall, Eastwood Mall, Niles.
May 25, 6 p.m.: "Stroke: A Treatable Emergency," an educational event for the community by Dr. Donald Tamulonis, Stroke Center director, Finnegan Auditorium, St. Elizabeth.
