Winning Mega Millions ticket filed
CINCINNATI (AP) -- The winning ticket in a Mega Millions jackpot potentially worth $265 million was submitted Tuesday at Ohio Lottery headquarters in Cleveland.
The winner's name will not be released. Lottery officials said a trust officer from a bank in Cincinnati, where the winning ticket was sold for the April 18 drawing, filed the claim on behalf of the WFJ Trust.
The winner chose the cash option of $148.1 million, which would mean a payout of $102.2 million after taxes, lottery officials said.
The ticket was sold at a Kroger grocery store a block from the University of Cincinnati campus.
Mega Millions is played in Ohio, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Virginia and Washington.
