Police investigate shooting death at East Side business

YOUNGSTOWN -- Police are investigating the shooting death of a 52-year-old male employee of Auto Zone at 1960 McCartney Road on the city's East Side.
Capt. Mike Vodilko of Youngstown Police Department said the coroner is investigating and notifying family members. He would not release the victim's name at press time.
Vodilko said police were called to the store around 8:50 p.m. The motive for the shooting is uncertain.
Vodilko said the employee was dead at the scene. He was well-liked and well known, the captain added.
Another store employee was at the back of the store and said he heard an exchange of words, then gunfire. He ran to the front of the store and found his co-worker shot in the face.
