Woman sues coffee shop over reported burning

WARREN -- A drive-through coffee shop next to Wal-Mart is named in a lawsuit involving the burning of a customer.
Cortland resident Naomi L. Trickett has sued Clean Beans LLC, doing business as Jo For The Road, 2059 Wal-Mart Drive, for getting burned by coffee July 16, 2004.
The suit was filed in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court and is assigned to Judge Andrew Logan.
In the lawsuit, Trickett, who is now known as Naomi L. Walker, reports that she was buying coffee at the business at the drive-through window when an employee served the coffee in a negligent and careless manner, causing coffee to spill on Trickett's thighs.
The suit says she suffered permanent injuries, incurred medical expenses and lost time and earnings from her job.
She is seeking damages in excess of $25,000, plus costs and interest.
