XAn auction will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 11, 2044 Youngstown Road S.E., Warren, to benefit the Animal Welfare League Shelter and its programs. XThe Mexican Society of Youngstown will sponsor a Cinco de Mayo dance from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday at St. Rose of Lima Church Hall, 50 Struthers-Coitsville Road, Coitsville. Singles are welcome. XBoardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St., will hold a trash or treasure sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on bargain day, Thursday. Coffee, tea and doughnuts will be available.
XConcordia Lutheran Church, 125 N. Brockway, will hold a rummage and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday with everything half-price after noon. A light lunch or pizza will be available.
XCopeland Oaks Library will hold its 10th annual book and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Collectibles, DVDs and videos also will be available. Collectors are welcome.

SPECIAL EVENTS
XThe Lady Spartans Fastpitch Club of Boardman High School will host a Texas Hold 'em Tournament at 1 p.m. May 21 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, state Route 224, Poland, for adults 21 and over. The $100 entry fee includes refreshments. Proceeds benefit the softball team.
