FOR MOTHERS AND DAUGHTERS Issues facing women



Girl Scouts Lake to River Council will present the program "Uniquely Me" for mothers and daughters. The age range for daughters is 11 to 14, sixth through eighth grades. The program is open to all; participants need not be involved in Girl Scouts.
When: 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 13.
Where: Kilcawley Center, Youngstown State University.
Schedule: Registration from 8:30 to 9 a.m.; opening, 9 to 9:20. Lunch, noon to 12:50 p.m. A motivational speaker will provide the break between morning and afternoon programs.
Programs: "Jock Talk," presented by a group of YSU female athletes; "Will My Daughter Have an Eating Disorder?" by a woman with a disorder and a registered nurse who regularly speaks to girls about the problem; "Tops and Bottoms," featuring representatives from a jeans company who will discuss body types and getting a good fit, and intimate apparel specialists on how to get the proper fit in a bra, with fittings offered; "You Are What You Eat!" featuring nutritionists from Humility of Mary Health Partners who will discuss a healthful diet; "Get In Line," with Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority members teaching line dancing as exercise; "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff" with a fitness expert from YSU Student Recreation and Wellness Center presenting a class on relaxation and how mothers and daughters can spend quality time together.
Fee: $5 per family, includes an information packet, continental breakfast, lunch and programs.
