Council prepares to pass appropriations



CANFIELD -- City council is getting ready to pass its new budget appropriations.
The total general fund amount, including money the city sets aside for self-insurance, is $3,226,585. Last year's general fund total was $3,600,025.
The general fund breakdown is as follows, with last year's amount in parentheses.
Mayor and council expenditures, $60,390 ($57,545).
City manager, $225,460 ($221,350).
Mayor's court, $65,105 ($71,630).
Finance department, $178,730 ($182,955).
Income tax department, $73,475 ($85,835).
Police, $2,069,545 ($2,041,855).
Payment to county health program, $60,100 (same in 2005).
Planning and zoning, $88,525 ($100,325).
Self-insurance fund, $14,000 ($74,100).
Council is expected to pass the budget appropriations at a special meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
