AUCTIONS
St. Joseph the Provider Home and School Association, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will hold a Chinese auction Sunday. Doors open at 1 p.m. and the auction begins at 3. Admission is $4 and includes 20 tickets, beverage and cupcake. Extra sheets of tickets will be sold. The kitchen will be open.
Sharpsville Elementary PTO will hold a Chinese auction Saturday at the school, 100 Hittle St., Sharpsville, Pa. Doors open at noon and drawings begin at 2 p.m.. Admission is $3 and includes 25 tickets and a door-prize entry. There will be a 50-50 raffle, money tree and bonus table. Refreshments will be available.
CARDS/BINGO
Altar Rosary Society of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 421 Covington St., Youngstown, will hold a bingo and card party from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. A light lunch will be served. The cost is $4 for adults and $2 for children.
Auxiliary of Oblate Sisters of Sacred Heart of Jesus will hold a card and bingo party and Chinese auction at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Teresa Casini Hall, 50 Warner Road, Hubbard. Tickets are $4 at the door and include a luncheon.
DANCES
American Heart Association will hold a "Here's to Your Heart" gala wine tasting and dinner dance Friday at Tiffany Banquet Center in Brookfield. Doors will open at 6 p.m., dinner will be served at 8 and dancing will be from 8:30 to 11. There will a silent and a live auction for such gifts as a diamond bar, a condo stay in the Bahamas, a fishing charter and golf packages. Tickets are $75, and there will be assigned seating. Church Hill United Methodist Church, 189 Churchill-Hubbard Road, Liberty Township, will have a gently used sale from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.Cortland United Methodist Church, 155 N. High St., will hold a sale of gently used books, magazine, puzzles, videos, DVDs, cassettes, CDs and more from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.First Presbyterian Church, 3654 Main St., Mineral Ridge, will hold an attic treasures sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday with a fill-a-bag sale the final hour. There will be a lunch counter. Donated items (no clothes) should be dropped off at the church during the week and may be prepriced, if the donor wishes.
Howland Community Church, 198 Niles Cortland Road S.E., Warren, will hold an antiques show and sale from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4490 Norquest Blvd., Austintown, is sponsoring a Treasures in Your Trunk Sale, a one-day garage sale from car trunks, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 29 in the church parking lot. Vendors can take tables up to 8 feet long. Parking spots are $10 a vehicle and can be reserved by sending a check payable to IHM Social Concerns to the church, marked Attention: Treasure Sale. There will be no refunds. Baked goods, hot dogs and soda will be sold, and there will be a 50-50 raffle. SPECIAL EVENTS
Mahoning County CASA/GAL Program will sponsor a dedication luncheon at 11:30 a.m. or 1 p.m. April 26 at the Outback Steakhouse in Boardman in conjunction with National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic, 2151 Rush Blvd., Youngstown, will hold a fellowship brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 30 at The Georgetown, 5945 South Avenue, Boardman. Dr. Abraham Twerski, medical director emeritus of Gateway Rehabilitation Center, will speak on "Using the Steps to Change Your Life."
