STEELERS

STEELERS
Autograph seekerson short end of deal
Fanfare:
It's my opinion the Steelers may have lost more fans than they would care to admit. I was at the basketball game between the Steelers and Brookfield school [at the Chevrolet Centre]. It was wonderful the game was sold out. People were everywhere, then it happened.
The promise of every kid under a certain age would get a Steelers' autograph. The kids and parents got in long, long lines. Too many kids, not enough time. Needless to say, a lot of kids didn't get their hero's autograph.
I think we should have some suggestion boxes put in our center. Here's one for autographs -- six Steelers come, five play, rope a section off and rotate the sixth man during the whole game -- problem solved.

McDonald should be proudof girls basketball team
Fanfare:
I would to recognize the performance by the McDonald girls basketball team.
Looking at the record and the run through the playoffs, the talent is apparent. But after watching this group, it goes well beyond talent. It is the true determination and heart of each and every player on the team that comprises just that: A team!
They should all be extremely proud of their athletic accomplishment, but more so, the character that each teammate possesses.
Each girl on this team is a true role model for the younger students who are just starting their careers in the fifth and sixth grade. This team has gone out of their way to try and help the younger players, even while going through their regional run.
The motivation and encouragement this gives to a younger player is priceless, just ask my daughter.
The coaching staff is led by Rob Hilbun. His two assistants are Ally Jones and Kevin O'Connell. We are fortunate to have these coaches here for our girls as they led this team to such an impressive run this season.
Finally and most importantly lets recognize our team -- Ashleigh Tondo, Amy Dolsak, Ashshena Stephens, Tomisa Sangregorio, Emily Dolsak, Courtney Vitullo, Alyssa Krumpak, Samantha Thomas, Cassie Garland, Callie Garland, Kristen Tayala, Lindsey Repp, Mackenzie Blackmon and Ari-Anna Williams.
Girls, you are champions and winners on and of the court. Thank you for a great season. You made a great impact on the court, but what you may not be aware of is your impact on the elementary school players.
As a father, I would personally like to say thank you to each and every one of you. You have all carried yourselves with tremendous class and dignity throughout all the wins and even in the face of a tough defeat. You should all be commended for that! Congratulations on an outstanding season.
