Some highlights of Mike Wallace's career:
1940: First radio job on WXYZ in Detroit, where he introduced adventure shows such as "The Green Hornet."
1946: Hosts a popular WMAQ radio interview show in Chicago.
1951: "Two Sleepy People" featured Wallace and then-wife, Buff Cobb, hosting a weekday celebrity chit-chat show that was an early-day color broadcast experiment for the network.
1956: Host of "Night Beat," a popular, hard-hitting New York interview series.
1963: Joins CBS News as a national reporter.
1968: Participates in the first "60 Minutes" broadcast Sept. 24, 1968.
