Probe yields drugs, paraphernalia, cash, rifle

LAKE MILTON -- A six-month investigation by the Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Task Force resulted in arrests and seizure of cash, a rifle, drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Bob Patton, task force drug supervisor, said the task force searched the apartment of Jamie Noe, 19, of Grandview Avenue, across from Lake Milton State Park around 8 p.m. Thursday.
Noe was arrested on charges of trafficking in marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Also arrested were Hubert Noe Sr., age unknown, on an outstanding warrant from Boardman Township; and Richard Shaffer, 20, on charges of carrying a concealed weapon and drug abuse.
Patton did not have addresses of the men readily available.
Patton said the task force received a search warrant from Judge David A. D'Apolito of Mahoning County Area Court, Austintown.
Working the case were two task force members from the area, Lt. Larry McLaughlin and Lt. Chris Pasvanis.
Craig Beach, Milton Township and Jackson Township police received numerous complaints about the activity at Noe's apartment, because of the proximity to the state park, Patton said.
He said that during surveillance, police observed many people coming and going from the apartment, including many juveniles.
Task force members found and seized $700 in U.S. currency, a rifle, 6 ounces of marijuana, suspected heroin and pills, several scales and "a multitude of drug paraphernalia and marijuana pipes."
